About this Institute

 Osawa Memorial Institute of Architectural Environmental Engineering was established in 1968 as an affiliated institute of Kanto Gakuin University at Professor Ichiro Osawa's proposal to conduct basic and applied research in urban and architectural environmental engineering, building equipment engineering, and related fields.

In 2005, the building was revitalized and renovated as a frontier of environmentally symbiotic technology, a comprehensive sustainable architecture, as part of an academic frontier promotion project by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan.

本研究所は、都市・建築の環境工学、建築設備工学及びその他これらに関連する分野の基礎的、応用的調査・研究を行うことを目的にし、1968年、大澤一郎の提唱によって関東学院大学が附置する研究所として創設されました。

2005年、文部科学省学術フロンティア推進事業としてリニューアル工事を行い、総合的なサスティナブル建築＝環境共生技術フロンティアとして再生・改修されたことにより、建物全体は、総合的研究施設であると共に、一つの大きな環境共生技術のための実験装置となっています。
